The suitors invaded Odysseus' house even though "mother wanted no suitors" (20). They have been staying in Odysseus' house for twenty years now and have been nothing but rude. "These men spend their days around our house killing our beeves and sheep and fatted goats, carousing, soaking up our good dark wine, not caring what they do" (21). They are all hoping to take the place of Odysseus as Penelope's husband, but will they get that opportunity? (DF)
