The Seirenes are the beautiful creatures that sing to passing boats and the men on them. Their singing makes the men forget how great it would be to finally be home and just want to go over to the beautiful music. They the men and they leave the bones next to them. Kirke warns Odysseus that the Seirenes are directly in his path home and of the danger they pose to their homecoming.



Also, Kirke has the the men cover their ears with wax, which Odysseus shoves into them. If they don't they will not get home and be hypnotized to stay there, enchanted by their music.
