Poseidon is the god of the sea, horses, and earthquakes. Poseidon's brothers are Hades and Zeus, and his sisters are Demeter, Hera, and Hestia. Throughout the epic, the Odyssey, Poseidon is angered at Odysseus. While Odysseus was at sea, fleeing from Ogygia, Kalypso's island, Poseiden calls up a storm which would have killed Odysseus if it weren't for the cloak given to him by Ino.
