Although she was not a major part of the book, she was still mentioned as the wife of Agamemnon, who cheated on him with Aegisthus. Aegithus is Agamemnon's cousin. During the long war, Klytaimnestra had an affair with and even had a child with Aegithus. Their childs name was Erigone, and she was a girl. Klytaimnestra than killed Agamemnon upon his return from the war. Klytaimnestra was mentioned in the end of the book as a contrast to Penelope who was very loyal to Odysseus.
