While in the underworld, Odysseus seees the phantom of Herakles. Herakles appears to Odysseus surrounded by crying dead and he was with a bow and arrow. He asks Odysseus if he is "destined to grinding labors like my own in the sunny world" and tells him of his being bound as a slave to someone who is a cruel master (205). Gives Odysseus faith in the gods by telling him of his own journey where Athena and Zeus helped him come back from an immpossible task from his master. OB
