Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom and battle, the favorite daughter of Zeus. She is often referred to as "the gray eyed goddess" in the Odyssey. She likes Odysseus for his skill and cleverness and wants to help him get home.

Athena is the godess of war and wisdom. She fights to have Zeus help send Odysseus home after being held captive on Kalypso's island. Athena disguises herself many times throughout the story as different people so she can help Telémakhos save his father, Odysseus.

Once Odysseus lands on Ithaka, Athena helps him develop "Team Ody" and puts him in a beggar disguise. She advises him during this journey, and eventually helps him in killing the suitors. (AS)
